 Farm Policies & Visitor Guidelines

Welcome to Snow Hill Farms, located in Ooltewah, TN, a family-friendly pick-your-own farm featuring lavender, blueberries, watermelons, and farm animals.
We’re delighted to share our farm with you! To ensure safety, fun, and a positive experience for everyone, please review and follow the policies below before entering the property.

1. General Information

Farm Hours:
Hours vary by season, crop availability, and weather. Please check our website or social media for updates before visiting.

Admission:

  • Entry fees ($5 adults, $2 children12 and under, Children 4 and under are FREE) These prices are posted at the entrance and on our website.

  • Children under 4 enter free with a paying adult.

  • All guests must check in with farm staff before entering any fields or animal areas.

Payment Methods:
We accept cash, debit/credit cards, and mobile payments. Prices are based on container size or weight and are subject to change without notice.

2. Required Release of Liability Waiver

To ensure everyone’s safety and understanding of farm conditions:

  • All visitors must sign a Release of Liability Waiver before entering the property. CLICK HERE to print and sign - Please bring the printed and signed document for each guest entering the Farm. We have waivers on site as well.

  • The waiver confirms awareness of possible risks such as uneven terrain, insects, animals, and outdoor exposure.

  • Minors (under 18) must have a parent or guardian sign for them.

  • Guests who do not sign the waiver will not be permitted entry.

  • By entering, all guests accept personal responsibility and agree to follow all farm policies.

3. U-Pick Guidelines

Help us maintain healthy crops and an enjoyable experience for everyone:

  • Pick only in designated areas. Respect all ropes, signs, and boundaries.

  • Use farm-provided containers unless otherwise approved.

  • Do not overfill or stack produce, as this can cause bruising.

  • You pick it, you keep it. Please do not discard unwanted produce in the fields.

Eating Guidelines:

  • ✅ Eating blueberries while picking is acceptable. Please enjoy responsibly.

  • 🚫 Eating watermelons on the property is prohibited. 

  • 🍯 No eating lavender or other crops not designated for tasting.

Lavender Harvesting:

  • Use farm-provided shears only.

  • Children under 10 years old are not allowed to use any shears, scissors, or cutting tools on the property.

  • Gather stems carefully and avoid stepping on plants.

  • Each bundle should contain approximately [number] stems.

Blueberry Picking:

  • Pick only fully ripe, deep blue berries.

  • Be gentle to avoid damaging bushes.

Watermelon Picking:

  • Staff will assist with identifying ripe melons.

  • Use provided wagons for safe transport.

  • If you cut a watermelon from the vine, it's yours. 

4. Bees & Allergy Advisory 

Our farm relies on bees and other pollinators for healthy crops. Bees are active around our lavender and berry fields.

Important Safety Notice:
If you have allergies to bee stings or insect bites, we strongly recommend that you do not enter our fields or facility.

  • Bees are generally non-aggressive but may sting if disturbed.

  • The farm is not responsible for allergic reactions or medical emergencies caused by insects.

  • Guests with known allergies should bring prescribed medications (e.g., EpiPen) and notify staff immediately if stung.

5. Petting Zoo & Animal Area 

We love sharing our animals with visitors! Please follow these rules to keep everyone safe:

  • All children 10 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the petting zoo or animal enclosures.

  • Feeding animals is strictly prohibited. Our animals are on controlled diets for their health.

  • Do not climb fences, open gates, or enter restricted areas.

  • Keep fingers away from mouths and feeding zones.

  • Wash or sanitize hands after visiting animals.

  • Move slowly and speak quietly around animals to avoid startling them.

6. Dress Code & Footwear Recommendation 

Our farm terrain includes grass, dirt, and gravel areas. For your comfort and safety:

  • We recommend wearing pants, walking shoes, hiking shoes, or boots.

  • Sandals or open-toed shoes are discouraged for safety reasons.

  • Bring sunscreen, hats, and water for outdoor comfort.

7. Safety & Conduct

  • Children must be supervised at all times.

  • No smoking is allowed anywhere on the property.

  • No pets in fields or animal areas (service animals welcome).

  • No outside coolers, containers, or bags unless approved by staff.

  • Respect the crops, equipment, and all staff instructions.

  • Please act responsibly and courteously toward other visitors.

8. Weather & Field Conditions

We are an outdoor working farm, and conditions may vary:

  • The farm may close during heavy rain, storms, or extreme heat.

  • No refunds will be issued for early closures due to weather after entry.

  • Dress appropriately and plan for changing outdoor conditions.

9. Photography & Media

  • Personal photos are welcome — please tag us at @[FarmSocialHandle]!

  • Professional or commercial photography requires prior approval and a reservation.

  • Drones are not permitted without written consent.

10. Refunds & Liability

  • All sales are final for U-Pick and farm store items.

  • Entry fees are non-refundable, except in the event of full farm closure prior to entry.

  • Visitors enter at their own risk. [Your Farm Name], its owners, and employees are not liable for injuries, losses, or property damage.

  • By signing the waiver and entering the farm, you agree to all terms and assume full responsibility for your visit.

11. Groups, Events & Tours

  • Groups of 10 or more require advance reservations.

  • We host school field trips, private events, and small weddings by arrangement.
